About Me
I've been very fortunate to have had so many extraordinary experiences in my life so far; thus the following story attempts to give a little bit of background as to who I am by recapping some of the most important experiences of my life.
Concisely, I am a student at the University of Cincinnati in the Honors Program majoring in German Studies and Bio-medical Studies (pre-med), with aspirations of going to medical school and becoming an emergency medical physician. I've always been interested in a career involving emergency medicine, but discovered some other passions along the way. For one, the experiences on my trail to becoming an Eagle Scout fostered a love for nature and outdoor activities, as well as invaluable leadership and community service experience. Throughout my secondary education I also discovered a passion for the German language and culture. Pursuing my passion of German, I traveled to Germany twice, once for a study tour of Germany, Austria, and Switzerland and the other as a three week exchange program in Lauchhammer, Germany. After high school graduation, I continued my pursuits in emergency medicine by graduating as Honor Graduate from the Ohio Fire Academy in late June 2013 as an emergency medical technician. Currently, I am honored and thrilled to work as a Patient Care Assistant in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center and as an Emergency Medical Responder at Kings Island Emergency Medical Services. Previously I have had the outstanding opportunity to work at Cedar Point as an Emergency Medical Technician.
Growing up, I always felt a keen interest in helping others. Put simply, I believe this to be the goal of my life: help--and possibly inspire--as many people as possible. By serving others, I hope to ignite within them a desire to "pay it forward" and help others. This guiding principle is integral to the decisions I have made and to my passions. I am not sure if my passions have developed themselves through this principle or if this principle developed through my passions. Perhaps some day I will come to know.
Until then, I take pleasure in every day as an opportunity to grow personally and serve gratefully.
